Is the original alarm due for replacement?
Discussion
My 1994 griff 500 has the original alarm. The two fobs are a bit fragile but it works though it can drain the battery fully in two weeks.
I hear that these early alarms don't age well, and can cause reliability issues, Am i wise to remove/replace before it lets me down ?
As part of this effort to head off potential issues and as i want to keep the car long term, I am thinking of a rewire and new ecu etc. Does it make most sense to replace the alarm at that time with a tap into the fuel pump feed or similar?
