500 mystery button
Discussion
I've had several TVRs and not had a switch marked that way. Perhaps somebody wired in a supply to the radiator fan relay to manually turn them on?
Or perhaps it was a extra immobiliser switch hidden somewhere when in use (not behind the dash obs ), if the OE alarm / immobiliser had failed.

Thanks for the info . What seems strange is it looks original or professionally done.
I’ve already found an additional button for isolating the ignition.
Stupidly the first thing I did when I found it was flick it on and off. So I don’t know what position it was in 🤔.
I try and route it to the glove box, so I can see what it does.

Can't the OP just press the button and see what stops working? It could be anything. It clearly isn't a factory standard fit. What is the big deal about just trying it if the OP is so curious? It isn't some James Bond car with a self-destruct button, or sets off stinger missiles, hidden behind the headlights is it?

It's for an ejector seat. And, I thought the same. Start the car (at least put the ignition on) flick the button and see what does/doesn't work.
Hmmmm. Personally I’d trace the wiring before pressing that switch.
As this is not standard on any Tvr and not many people local can assist with Tvr wiring issues you are taking a blind chance by pressing that button.
It might be a basic and prudent move to trace the wiring first.
You need to know these cars very well to detect or find electrical faults and just consider, if that buttons for a sinister purpose someone might have clipped the wires back to avoid detection which should make it dead but it might also be live dangling around somewhere. Unlikely I know but in situations like these you have no idea unless you trace it.
I have a saying which served me very well with my Tvr over the years which is simply
Plan for the worst but hope for the best, it’s neatly always the later which is probably the case here.
A basic check around the parts of the car this button could be connected to might be the easiest way to see if there’s any alien wiring coming from those areas.
I notice the o/p mentioned we was going to trace it through the glove box which is the correct thing to do.

Hahaha
The theory of tucking it away and carrying on is a good one but I’d be forever wondering wtf it was.
It could be wired to the immobiliser close by as a by pass tool or pretty much anything else you can think of.
I discovered with the Tuscan that the old adage "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" definitely appliesThe theory of tucking it away and carrying on is a good one but I’d be forever wondering wtf it was.

I have the same tucked away behind the dash. It's from the Meta alarm and immobiliser. If you need to disable the immobiliser using the red code you use that switch in a sequence with the ignition (or something like that).
hide it away and forget it if its working.
That’s good to hear. hide it away and forget it if its working.
What years your car please.
