reverse cable Rover gearbox Griffith

My trimmer encounters a problem with the gear lever cable (Rover)

According to him,the reverse gear cable is broken (gear knob). My car is an early Griffith, the gearbox is Rover.

Does anyone know the part number for a replacement or where we can source it ?

I recommended that he calls my TVR specialist, who told him that he couldn't help him, on the grounds that it wouldn't be a TVR part.

The gearbox does not have any "cable" connections.
From the stick to the box, it's all a rod/lever - mechanical connection for the gear selection.

I suspect he has found another 'bowden' type cable and it looks well used? Tell him to trace both ends of the cable.

I wonder if he may has found one of the two Bowden cables that run along the gear tunnel to open the doors. Just a thought!!
