Hi folks, could anyone confirm the part number for an oil filter for my 2000 reg griffith 500?

Am I correct with a Bosch P4014 0451104014 ?

As I've only done 1000 or so miles since last service was planning to get my hands dirty.

Thanks in advance,

Nigel

No idea on Bosch numbers but if it cross references to this it should be okay.

Motaclan (Took over racing Green Parts & Parts For TVRs)

TVR E0062
OIL FILTER

Oil filter for pre-serpentine engines only and fits V8S, Griffith and Chimaera . If engine number begins 37A...engine is NOT pre serpentine and you must use Oil Filter part no. TVR E2117. TVR does recommend the use of the serpentine oil filter in the earlier Rover V8 engine. If your car has an oil cooler and the sandwich plate arrangement space may be an issue. TVR E0062 measures approximately 5 1/2" long and TVR E2117 measures approximately 4" long. The filters ARE interchangeable providing there are no space constraints.
Also fits the following:
TVR Chimaera, TVR Griffith, TVR S-Series S-S4 & V8S

Thanks for the replies, there appear to be 2 lengths listed for the bosch version, 93mm and 114mm, the 114mm seems more like the landrover part number which also appears to match the mann filter, better have a measure tonight before I proceed

Many moons ago it was often mentioned you could get a longer filter. Some cars you can but most you simply can not get the longer filter on leaving enough clearance to chassis rails to make it a comfortable fit.
Buy the shorter and standard Landrover filter.
Your likely to change it before it’s worn out based on 5000 mile service intervals.
Many including myself tend to replace both filter and oil around 3000 miles based on occasional use and it keeps the engine insides nice and clean.

Haha, no I'll not reopen that debate, I've made my decision.

Why the ancient engine design requires only the best fully synthetic I don't know but halfords have 10% this weekend so it's ordered on click and collect.

I nearly asked about sump plug washer but I think I can handle that decision.

Less mpg but it will sound silky smooth.

Halfords are doing the Bosch ones for £4.72, with free delivery apparently. It surprised since almost everything in Halfrauds is cheaper elsewhere. smile

Such a shame that the David Brown V8F filters are no longer available, unless anyone knows differently?
