Shifting gaiter steering rack

As the gaiter steering rack where used on my Griffith 500 made on 1999, I ordered a pair of gaiter for the power steering on Motaclan website.
The gaiters that I received look shorter and smaller than the originals. For those who have already changed the gaiter, what do you think ?

Old gaiters look stretched. As long as the new gaiters fit snugly and concertina enough I personally wouldn’t worry about the outside diameter difference.

I am agree but one pleat is missing on the new ones.

Gaiters supplied are quite possibly a generic, fit many cars, type from someone like Bailcast. They will not be a 100% copy of the factory original but they will do the job.

Phillpot , BAILCAST models of gaiter have 14 pleats like the original ones.
Those from MOTACLAN only have 13 pleats.

I did say "like Bailcast", There are many manufacturers/suppliers of steering rack gaiters.
If you are counting the pleats on the photo I posted they are not necessarily the Bailcast gaiters for your car.

Just fit the damn things and find something more important to worry about

BAILCAST sells three different models:
- DBSR 100
- DBSR 200
- DBSR 300

Which might fit?

You need to check the three relevant dimensions on your rack and compare them to the corresponding dimensions that Bailcast or whoever give for their products...
Hint: The number of convolutions is not critical.
