Hi chaps
Can anyone help a newby owner, how can I tell if this 1998 Grif has a cat fitted?
Any help/advice would be gratefully received.
As always, TIA!

That is a cat y piece, but without removing it you can’t know for certain if the cat is still in there.

The central cylindrical section below the y is the cat, if it’s been removed it will sound quite hollow I’d guess.

I’d be fairly certain that the cat is still fitted, as a non cat y piece is readily available and relatively cheap. Many owners have them fitted and retain the original for mot’s etc.

There were also pre cats fitted, at the end of the manifolds just ahead of the lambda probes, many of these have been removed without changing the manifolds. Again, only way to know is to take the y piece out.

Thanks for the input chaps
I think it's still got it's cat fitted, there is no sign of welding, and it does not sound 'hollow' when I tap it...
