Has anyone any indication of whether the market has picked up yet? I'm looking to move from the Griff to a Vantage and unsure whether this is the year or not - and I also need to decide whether to start on works or leave them for the new owner.

Currently need to replace carpets and fix the drivers' window mechanism, and get a proper service done (I've serviced it myself in the time I've had it). The car is a 4.0 PreCat and has had a full body-off chassis restoration in 2016. Any thoughts on realistic market value?

From your rather brief description I'd say about £18k private sale. But fix the window, prospective buyer will find enough faults without you handing them out on a plate wink

If you wait for TVR prices to pick up won't Aston prices do like wise?

My take on bits of work is better to do them before sale. In my view, if a car has obvious bad bits it casts a poor light on the rest of it. Kind of sets the scene.

To get the best price, fix the obvious.

I’d agree with the above price wise.
The 400 pre cat is a bit of a strange one in my eyes, people seem to overlook them in favour of the larger capacity engines.

...and I'd agree re prices, it's the differential that matters. If you achieve less for your pre-cat in a challenging market you'll likely find an Aston seller in a similar position, if the market improves and you achieve a better price then you'll likely pay more for the Aston.
