Door solenoid on a Griff ?
Discussion
i'd be supprised if both failed at once.
more likely fuses or...
WIRING!
sorry, haven't looked at this bit before so can't be more help.
there is a control unit, behind the dash (near the radio) so check the wiring etc here.
also check the door switches - rear of sills
good luck

i think that there are 2 different types of solenoid. you need to get your old one out, have a look at it and then then ring someone like penninsular or tower view and tell them which one it is. for your info - both mine went at the same time and tower view replaced them - not too expensive i don't think. thinking about it, i suppose it could have been a wiring problem that caused them to fail - so maybe i have not dealt with the full cause of the problem but they seem to work fine now.
Thanks for your thoughts.
Have achieved intimate knowledge of fusebox and wiring loom associated with locks. Removal of the solenoids was a last resort and hey bingo - fault found. Had also thought that it must be a fuse thing.
Gjm - glad to know you've not had any further problems. It gives me a bit more confidence in fitting a new part. Always worried about doing that without tracing the source of the problem, just in case it blows up another set.
