Ok so time to put the plenum back on after fuel hose replacement. I see there are various opinions as to what sealant to use. When I removed it the sealant was black and not set hard - it actually came off easily almost in one piece. Is this likely to be a RTV Silicone Sealer ?

Also, I've seen some debate about a spacer gasket for the plenum to increase the air volume. I'm curious, doubting it would make too much difference - has anyone actually made that modification and found any difference ?

Thanks.

For sealant I'd just use a light coating of hylomar, I don't think it has any as standard.
Can comment on the spacer but I've read some reporting they notice a difference, personally i think the only thing it does is empty your wallet.

Historically always Hylomar, however these days any suitable RTV Silicone works

Spacer alone will not make any noticeable improvement, the extra volume is negligible, similarly any minor reduction in temperature (presuming you are looking at a fibre/composite spacer, not alluminium) will most likely go unnoticed?
