I recently suffered the bearing in the idler coming free and as a result, the pulley moved far enough out of line that the aux belt snapped and came off. Replaced the bearing with a new one. After probably 60 odd miles, the bearing has moved again.

Anyone any idea what’s causing this? Ideally, I could do with a new idler assembly but they don’t seem to be available anywhere.

Any ideas and / or guidance is welcomed !

Off top of my head. Remove the bearing, throughly clean the area the bearing is fitted and use a bearing fit loctite to secure the bearing in place. You will need a gas torch to ever remove the bearing again wink

Thanks Rob, I’ve had it ‘pinched’ to secure.
