Hi Folks
I'm upgrading the audio in my 96 Griff 500
I'm replacing a 2004 vintage JVC radio/cd with a modern Pioneer SPH-20 DAB (the one that holds the phone), and also adding rear speakers.
The JVC has a male ISO connector on the back, and then there's a connecting cable with a female ISO to a 12 way male connector. However there are only 6 pins in the connector (R & L spkr, 12v, earth)

On the car end, there's a fully populated 12 way female socket, that looks original, wired into the loom, with 12 wires connected. (Actually there are 2 red wires connected to 1 terminal ???)

Does anyone recognise this connector?
The new pioneer has a adaptor lead which ends with a male ISO connector. So ideally what I'd like to do is make up a female ISO to 12 way male adaptor, so I can keep the car wiring as is. But I need to buy a 12 way male with all the pins present.

Otherwise I'll have to remove the 12 way socket from the loom and wire in an ISO female.

Cheers

I bought a Land Rover Discovery 1989-1995 to ISO wiring block and re-pinned it into the black terminal.

Some images…

Removed this horror…

Removed the round pins from the LR block, and they fitted perfectly into the black connector - giving me a converter to ISO.

Thanks Podie
I'll see if I can get one of those.

I've just discovered the 12 way connector comes apart so I can re use it if I can find the pins

That's exactly what I did.

I think I used an Autoleads PC2-14-4 - I'll check my emails

ETA - yep, comfirmed.

I also bought some cheap pin removal tools as well.

Got some good practice in on the TVR supplied black block before taking the Autoleads one apart having got my hand in.

Do you have anything that details which pin is which? I can work out the 6 that I have, but I'll have to do lots of tracing & testing for the others

I had a “template” as I was essentially tidying the connections, so just had to ensure the wires matched the locations before and after.

Google should assist with the colours
