How did you find your Griff?
Discussion
With all these new Griffith owners about it would be interesting to know how and where these cars were found.
When I bought mine I had searched Autotrader on line, scoured as many dealer ads as possible but eventually found my car through Pistonheads from a private seller.
Haven't looked back since!

Trawled the dealers, spoke to TVRCC members, scoured all the ads(Autotrader,Sprint etc) and every website I could find including dealers, independents and specialists. I missed a couple of good ones by waiting a couple of days to ring(due to work committments).
It also seems that you need to be in the right place at the right time.

I found our Griffith for Mr Big on the Net - Autotrader I think. He wanted a blue one with magnolia hide and PAS. Managed to find one near Manchester which had a grey interior and nagged him to go and look at it. It was a bit of a hop from Essex but a good deal and we have had no regrets.
Decided that it was a Griff for me ( having owned an 1800s years ago)Took advice/joined TVRCC(again), as cash was not to hand, pledged to try out many, and really understand what I was letting myself in for.
Anyway was killing time near a well known TVR dealership late one afternoon and they happened to have one x 4.3 Griff...,quick test drive ( the only Griff I've driven !) and I found myself the proud owner...so much for taking my time. That was nearly a year ago and apart from current thread on "different noise from engine area"its been a great experience.

I decided that I wanted a faster car. After trying a BMW 850 (shed!) and a Mercedes SL500 (nice but expensive and an automatic), I decided to take a look at S2s or S3s as a TVR had always been on my list of must-haves. Then after trying a V8S or two I decided to try Griffs and Chimaeras as well just to see what they were like. Admittedly because a lot of S owners seem to trade up to Griffs and I wondered about cutting out the middle stage.
Spent lots of time scouring AutoTrader, PH, dealers' stock lists, Sprint, etc. Eventually found the beast here in the PH classifieds. And the rest, as they say, is history.

Looked for ages and spoke to loads of people I only wanted a fully sorted unique car that was a bit special (I even pestered Apache to see if he was selling) However because I spoke to so many people someone came back to me with a "I know someone with one of those, it's laying at the back of his barn covered in shite, I'll ask him" Turns out the guy had bought it as a toy and got borred, so it had been left at the back of a barn with the roof off, when I first saw it I couldn't tell the colour, it had chicken shit inside and straw all over it. He wasn't bothered about selling at all and was very "take it or leave it I don't care" In the end I got it for a "confidential" figure that was what had been offered as PX against a new 360 and was quite frankly taking the piss. £2K later and it's running lovely with good mechanicals and a chassis thats one of the best I've seen. I reckon I've got another few grand to do before it's back as it should be but that will include a lot of "mods" such as TVR Bodyshop headlights, very special dash currently under development, new carpets, wheels and having the leather re-connolised. Once it's all done I will have what I originally wanted but couldn't find and still hopefully have money in the bank.
