Spotted a factory one for sale on autotrader. It does look a bit scruffy though.

Yeah I thought that the engine bay looked as un-loved as it possibly could of.

I did too. No shots of the underside either. Would have been interested in it if it was well looked after or at a price to justify part restoration

That does look a sack of doo doo cant think anyone in their right mind would pay that much for it
I really cant fathom why they dont spend a day or so on it and tidy the engine bay up at least make it look well maintained .

I don't know how many they made but mines a bit special as it was Neill Andersons personal car, press car and development car for a number of Cerbera and Tuscan components so has a lot of history

There was another one that came up a couple of years ago and that was £35K too so seems to be the starting point for a 4.5BV

I remember which one yours is now. I've seen it before years ago .. my business used to license the TVR brand consumer products for a while.

I would be happy to pay £35k+ but to me this one looks like it needs a lot spending on it.

I'm not really in the market for one as I have a Griff .. but only a boring 500!

No it was changed from storm grey to Eleonor (Gone in 60 Seconds) grey by the previous owner

Didn't Neill used to hillclimb / sprint the car ? Someone once told me it had an upside down left hand derive rack fitted* to correct the bump steer when testing the cerb suspension .. do you know if that's true and if so is any of that stuff still on the car ?

  • might have been random gossip.

I think you mentioned the steering rack a couple of years ago so I checked and no it's the right way up!

It has many non standard bits on it including Cerbera rear uprights, drum brake parking brake, BTR diff, Tuscan front brakes, rear anti-roll bar, thicker front anti-roll bar, different instruments and other stuff I've forgotten!

I see big valves are seen as the holy grail but how good are the heads actually?
Comparable to something like this?

Just curious that’s all, I understand a BV from the factory is always a bit more prestigious.

That 4.5 has been for sale a while and is either poorly marketed or intentionally hiding information. Nonetheless it's rarerety will still make it desirable for someone even if it ends up being a £50k car.

I'm surprised that after all this time all "only one year of production" precats aren't worth more compared to 500s.
