Dash vents, which way round?
Discussion
I've looked at several photos on the web and there seems to be a difference of opinion regarding the centre dash vents. Should they be fitted with the open / close wheels outboard? i.e. towards the seats on each side:
Or with the open / close thumbwheels both on the left. This way, they will both open and close with the thumbwheels pushed in the same direction. First world problem and all that but I wondered what the opinions are :
I've also seem images with both thumbwheels inboard towards the transmission tunnel (wrong IMHO),and another with the thumbwheels both on the right! Seems to be just random, since they are not sided and can be fitted either way round.

Never been in it actually...
The fact I have the SP12 wheels and Leven vent trims is probably sacrilegious and having Gaz suspension a hanging offence. All paid for by previous owners, thankfully.
The majority of photos I've seen seem to favour the thumbwheels both on the left, but all combinations are on display.
Here's one with the thumbwheels outboard:
And inboard on a car at Fernhurst with the Leven trims like mine:
And a rare one of a Griff with the thumbwheels on the right!

Yes, I have the manual and I think that's the way I'll go. It's my fussiness that doesn't like the idea of 'up' being shut on one side and 'down' being shut on the other.
My research was that earlier models have some sort of flexible plastic tubing. At least I have aluminium trunking (1999 car and I presume factory?) although it just sits in the aperture and the vents are interference push fit. With bevelled edges and a bit of foam, they would have been much more efficient, but it would all have added to the production costs I suppose.
The ends aren't uniform width either, they are wider at one end than the other. Square tubing welded together.
It's Heath Robinson stuff like this that must dismay many people, who are put off TVR.
But I think it's character....
