Do all Griffs have either a 100A fuse near the starter motor or 80A fuse in the footwell? Mine doesn't seem to have either, could the 80A fuse be behind the fuse panel or do some cars don't have one?

John, in answer to your Q....Like all things TVR, the later the vehicle, the more "thought" went into the detail.

My '98 Chimaera had the 100A fuse with holder tie-wrapped to lower chassis rail, offside, and inline with starter....And failed in usual manner.

It's likely that by the late 90's, all the cars had some protection to the fuse/relay board...Should be fairly easy to locate by following the heavy gauge red cable that supplies the +VE supply to the board.

On my '97 500 the 80 amp fuse is cut into the brown cable that runs from the battery to the fusebox.

My ‘94 Griff started out as a pre-serp and there are no 80 or 100 amp fuses. The power feed to the fuse board is by two 4mm2 brown wires from alternator to the starter solenoid terminal, then two 4mm2 wires from the starter solenoid terminal to the fuse board. It’s is a huge cable length and no fuse protection, never mind the voltage drop. The battery power is brought into the system by the red starter cable from battery to starter solenoid terminal.

There is definitely room for improvement!
