Lenso BSX Wheels ?
Discussion
I’ve got 16’s all round on my Griff. 225/50 on the front and 245/45 on the rear. Looks great but going up the size on the front does cause the wheel to rub so full lock is not achievable.
Looks good though! However I was thinking about going back to the original set up of 15’s front and 16’s rear and 55/50 front / rear. Both for a more oem / traditional look, ease of low speed steering (no pas) and better steering lock.
I’d need to check offset etc but assuming front and rear rims are identical, I may be you for a trade to achieve a 15/16” result.

I noticed the rubbing when I viewed the car, but it would benefit from having the correct profile tyres 225/45 x 16 and a pair of steering rack stops as photo.Looks good though! To stop the rubbing
Jeez I find this baffling, sports cars worth tens of thousands yet you want to put crap replica wheels on instead of the OEM wheels made by the likes of Compomotive or OZ. A set of Compomotive Cxn are pretty dam close to a BBS RM. A OZ split was an option from factory from TVR so you even see those with tvr centre caps in them but ones with a OZ cap are usually cheaper!
Barely 10 years ago when Lenso were first in the UK and a set was barely £500 with tyres people on VW forums were being shredded for buying them to put onto £1k Golfs when a set of BBS RMs were the same money.
Now those lensos are mostly in the scrap heap or being traded around for £200 where as a set of 30 year old BBS RM/RS have more than doubled in value, are still round,still hold air and are desirable wheels!!!
Yes I'm a wheel snob but it's no different to someone buying a replica Rolex, they may look and work to a similar degree whilst fooling people who have no idea but anyone with the real thing or interest in watches isn't in the slightest bit impressed.
Also consider the Sierra RS Cosworth could be optioned with 16*7/16*8 BBS RS 3 piece split rim in a 4x108pcd they would be the business!

Thanks for the words of advice and pointers
@Citizen Smith - good idea - would just need to find the temporary space to store them - my garage space is a challenge
@v8sss & Toma500 - Unfortunately , I prefer the standard look of 16s rear and 15 on front – and last year I brought brand new set of Toyo’s with stamps , in the correct size’s
@Ric P - I agree – even though get “W” rated tyres 205/55 now days is a pain
@Aka_kerrly - I do have the original 7 spoke OEM wheels – they aren’t going anywhere. Interesting to hear your views on Lenso’s quality. As we know the original’s (OZ’s) cross spokes are rarer than hen’s teeth these days , having owned a 4.3 and 400 I won’t say OZ’s are better quality, just rarer (lacquer peels too quickly)
@Phased - RL7’s nice , but I do love set of spoke’s - Peter admired the Jags and Healy’s from sixties , I loved my OZ’s on the 4.3
@Moose - Thanks for the pointer to Image Wheels – the DB3’s look interesting - I will give them a call later on this week

This is how mine ended up on 16” all round:

I’ll post some side on pics when I next wheel it out to do the engine mounts. But I do sort of feel a bit more rubber would help the look. It is a car from the ‘90 before the obsession for oversized wheels. My wife has an X3 M Sport on 19”. Sat in the back 2 days ago. It is an ex demo with sports suspension delete but the ride was just awful. Front is poor but in the back, positively unpleasant. Hoping to get some 18” of same size all round to allow rotation and flog the MSport ones!
A bit more sidewall will allow a bit more ride compliance, which works in a lighti-ish car esp for traction on poor roads.
So interested in the 15” route if you go there.

Ignore the wheel snobs not everyone can afford a Rolex. A decent set of OZ splits are next to impossible to find as are RL7s. I think I got mine from Rimstyle not sure if they still exist but they were happy to supply 16/17” mix?
I had 99.9% positive comments about the Lensos and they looked like new when I sold the Griff in May after 4 years but I did keep and sell the original alloys with the car.

These Lensos have been on my Chimaera for around 13 years and still look great. I couldn't be happier with them. I have 16 inch on the back and 15 inch on the front. As the hubs are solid billet they were machined to the original TVR offsets. I bought these as the original rear wheels were out of shape and vibrated like crazy at around 110 mph. The Lensos have taken the car safely and smoothly up to 150mph with no issues.
The only thing that is poundland is your attitude. Have you ever even seen one in the metal?
I was extremely happy with the quality, look and durability of the Lenso wheels, they were fitted by Str8six who liked them enormously (as did everyone who saw them) and they fitted a set to another car they had for sale.
The guy above has had his for 13 years, hardly poundland is it
trolling tt!
