Fuel Hose Jubilee clip
Discussion
I have fuel weeping from the hose where it goes onto the pump. It was easy enough to diagnose - the jubilee clip is loose - I can move it around the hose quite easily. So went to tighten it and the screw just goes round but doesn't tighten - can't untighten it either - the screw just goes round and round the other way. The screws not broken though.
Anyone any idea how I can get it off without damaging the hose ? I was rather hoping I could get a new clip on without having to disconnect the hose as I have a full tank.
If I can't and do have to have the hose off - does the hose generally slide off quite easily from the pump (it's a bosch one).
Thanks.

Perhaps try jamming a screwdriver in the gap between the the main strap and the end where it emerges from the screw housing. If you force the end of the strap against the thread of the screw it might undo. Anyone any idea how I can get it off without damaging the hose ? Will it then pull off easily? Not necessarily. But it will wiggle off.

This may be an opportunity to replace hose and clip, too many have been lost to fire due to fuel hose issues caused by modern fuels.
Just an idea.
Believe it or not, mine just had the fuel hose pushed onto the fuel rail with no fixings, apparently this is how the early ones left the factory..... mechanic pointed it out to me, and suggested I had it fixed properly.Just an idea.
The fuel hose on my Chimaera burst (despite having them checked every service).
Being the good old TVR that it was it chose to burst & shower fuel everywhere on the MOT tester's ramps. No fire & all fixed along with the MOT.
I shudder when I think of all the places it could have burst!

As it hasn't been done already.
