Just replaced my failed fuel pump with Racetech sourced Bosch item. - it’s not working!! Fuel is getting to the pump but nothing coming out. The pump is doing the priming/whirring noise but that’s all. So fuel and power getting to it but no output. It obviously sounds like a defective pump but just checking on here to see if I’m missing something else.

When you say no fuel is coming out, is that from the outlet of the pump or from further down, like the fuel injector rail?

There’s fuel at the inlet but nothing coming out from pump outlet. Not a drop.

I’m pretty sure it’s a genuine Bosch item - it’s from Racetech and it’s in the correct packaging/made in Czech Republic etc.

Pump turning in the wrong direction due to incorrect termination ?

Pipes on the wrong way ?

Is there an internal transit cap on inlet side? I managed to empty the entire tank via the pump (not running) as fuel flowed through it when it was shut down. It was the same when I changed the hoses.

Ok don’t laugh. Just reversed connections and lo and behold - it’s pumping. Big red face this end. In fairness there’s no polarity marks anywhere and the body is a symmetrical cylinder.
Cheers guys 😊😊
