Testbook connector
Discussion
Hi All,
Hoping someone might be able to help. I have an ECUmate (From Steve Heath) and was just going to connect it to my Grif to do some checks. The instructions say to connect it to the "Testbook connector", which I have located fine. However, the instructions say to remove the "loop cable" plug, so that the ECU mate can be plugged in and then to make sure you plug it back in again when you finish. Here's the question: My Testbook connector doesn't have a plug fitted with a loop cable, it is just an open ended socket (you can see the bare connection pins). Will this be causing me a problem during running? Thanks for any comments / help!

Quite common for it to be missing. Perhaps your car never even had one. The loop wire mentioned connects the ECU signal wire to earth to stop the wire picking up stray signals. As said many don't have them and run happily that way.Hoping someone might be able to help. I have an ECUmate (From Steve Heath) and was just going to connect it to my Grif to do some checks.
