Should be sticking out from the front of the inlet manifold very low down hiding behind the dizzy.

You need a very long pair of long nose pliers to take the connection on and off.

If you can't get it working as you like you should check out the rover temperature sender mod. Often with the TVR sender you get a plug of air at the sender that prevents thermal transmission.

Assuming you have the same / specific type of gauge in the dash the above link is to the thread mentioned above.

Thanks all, but my DIY ability is strictly limited, beyond checking for obvious loose or bad connections, I’m stumped.
I’m also having trouble locating a mechanic, that’s near me in mid/East Kent, Taylor TVR is great, but a bit inaccessible to me now, my partner has to be available to bring me back, but she’s not up to driving anymore.
Any recommendation for a mechanic near Wye would be wonderful.

Have a go Griff it really is quite simple, I'm as mechanically challenged as you and it took me 15 minutes.

The way things are going, I may have to!

I need to find out if it is the sensor that’s packed up, or if it’s a wire fallen off the gauge, or similar. I don’t want to order and replace the sensor and then find out it’s something else.

I am sure I have heard of a company called Kent TVR that offered a mobile repair service. I dont know any more than this but may be worth a Google.
