Picked up my SE this morning, only nearly didn't as when we tried to shut the passenger door it wouldn't latch. It looks like a rod coming upwards from the latch to the alloy T button isn't locating properly in the button and jamming under the body holding the latch open.
We managed to free it and get the door to latch but my wife was a bit nervous on the journey home!

I've been searching but couldn't find out how to get access to the rod, I'm assuming I need to remove the trim panel behind the door, the C pillar I guess. How is it fixed to the car, is it just a case of removing the allen bolt that the rear roof section pivots on and the rest of the panel has some hidden clips?
Will carry on searching in the mean time!

Just a quick reply to stop you before you start. You access it by lifting a carpeted flap up, it should be velcroed down at the bottom. No bolts need to be removed

As above the latch is just behind the carpet flap, easy to access.

Here's the culprit, about 5 mm too short so It is able to slip out of the ally button and jam under the body. Are the lock's Vauxhall? I assume its just a cut down rod that would normally go to a door handle?

Only last week I needed a longer one for my DH and used a Wickes bucket handle it cost me 1.00, I now have a surplus plastic bucket with no handle, but I can make 3 or 4 rods. A@
