Any comments on difference in performance between a 500 Griff and a Cerb 4.5 upto 100 and 30-100?? Just a lazy lunch time question. What about handling?
Cheers

You got the "My Griff's not fast enough after all" syndrome already?

Up to 80, not much in it.

80-100. Griff starts to look a bit lame.

Over 100. Did the Griff run out of gas?

Handling wise, there's no comparison. The Cerbie is way more composed under all circumstances, and it doesn't have the aerodynamics of an aircraft wing, so it doesn't try to take off above 130mph either.

Just my observations from owning one of each at the same time.

Griff's best for roof off posing round town on a sunny day though.

I think you had too many '0' in your quoted speed for London.

I hae a Griff 500 and Cerbera 4.2 at the moment, I would have to say the Cerbera is the faster car. What you really notice however is the difference in power delivery, the Griff has the thump in the back from low RPM where as the Cerbera gives you a smack in the mouth through the entire rev range

Agree with James.

I have owned a Griff 500HC up until recently when I purchased a Cerbera 4.7 (special). The Cerbera is far quicker at any speed, especially over 100. The Griff at 140/150 was frightening, but the Cerbera is well composed.

I think I'm going to lose my license though!!!!

every time i've driven a griff i've been slightly disappointed with the performance, seems a fair bit slower than a cerb to me, also handling not in the same class... i'm sure performance and handling could be improved substantially with a little fettling.

Are yousure it is not the power delivery making you think it is a fair bit slower? I'd agree about the handling it is much better on the Cerbera.

Surely the 4.5 cerbera is 50 bhp per ton faster, the torque per ton is about the same.

in my experience, a good Griff 500 is as fast as a Cerbera up till 100 mph; after that I haven't experienced

also, with special dampers (Koni in my case) I find the ride at e.g. 140 mph quite stable and sure-footed

sure, the Cerbera must be the better car but for me the design of the Griff is what really appeals to me plus the fact that it's a roadster

What about a "good" Griff 500 against a "good" Cerbera 4.5? At the very least, we know Cerbera power varies between 310 and 360 as standard...
