Headlamp Unit Replacement
Discussion
Hi, listers!
I am brandnew to this list.
I`ve recently acquired a ´96 Griff 500.
There are none LHD on the market so it´s
RHD.
To getting road-permission here in Austria I would have to convert the asym. headlights to continental ones.
After spending quite a time in finding
a way to bring out the headlamp units,
but there was no way.
Could I am right, and you really have to cut the car into pieces just to change headlamp units?
Help and suggestions badly appreciated.
I want to drive my Griff!
When you say there are no LHD on the market, what do you mean? My dealer here in Switzerland always has the odd LHD Griffith 500 for sale at reasonable prices. They might also help you with the headlamp conversion. See the link for contact information.

Thanks very much for your all reply!
Andy; too late now, didn´t know about it, on the other hand Switzerland hasn´t yet joined the EC, good idea on the Austrian point of view, bad for me as costumer: high duties and difficult to getting road permission - as funny it sounds.
By the way I know, our one and only Austrian TVR Dealer has sold max. 2 Griffs here, so there is no market.
Germany was very weak as well, especially mine had to be younger than ´94.
Danke für Deine Hilfe!
Apache, thanks very much for your information as well.
Mike,
I don´t know what happened at Castle Combe and if I´ve got it right!
Seems Listers are doing quite well.
They are powered by Jaguar I think,
and Griffith Owners seem to be the modern E-Type drivers. I have this idea because many people were already asking me, if this car(Grif) is the new "E-Type"! (Austrians haven´t a glue about TVR)
See it from this side:
Listers are family!
And Mike, the connection you gave me turned out perfect, great illustrated discription about removing of headlamp-covers and how to reach lamp units.
There is a way, but looks like a very hard one. UFF!
Thank you very much for this.
Good luck to you all,
Martin
