Has anyone had any rear diff problems on a Griff 500? After 42k miles a specialist tells me I need a new one and it is a common problem. Having never even had to replace the clutch I am surprised that the diff needs replacing.

I also had a "specialist, well respected TVR dealer" tell me the same thing (on a Griff 4ltr), turned out it was a sheared diff mounting bracket and a disintigrated diff bush that they didn't notice, when I took it somewhere else and showed it to me I couldn't believe you could miss it, I'd have been better off looking at it myself!. Caused it to vibrate and was noisey, knocked occiasionally too, get a second opinion. Right as rain now for not alot of wonga.

I was also advised by a TVR specialist during a recent 48,000 service that I needed a new diff as it was leaking very badly. I was quoted around £ 400 plus labour. It turned out to just be a new seal which I did myself for around £ 35. There was no other symptoms (mechanical noise etc.) to sugest the diff was shot. D
