Hi All

My first post here although I've been popping in now and then for little while. I'm hoping for a bit of advice as my beloved has finally said I can have a tvr. My budget is around £15k although I could push it to about £18k, so has anyone any advice on the best I could get for this price - I really like the Griffith but also want a pretty reliable one. Can anyone offer advice (all welcome) on the the pros and cons of the models I could get for this price?

Cheers!

Paul

If you want the Griffith, go for it, 15-18K will buy something decent, & hopefully reliable.

Ah and I thought this was a thread for married men on their birthdays

Good luck witht the search, I'm sure if you take your time and do the home work you'll get a more than sorted car for that wonga.

If your not prepared to spend the next couple of months looking up and down the country consider using someone like Rob ingleby to do the leg work for you, I did and quite a few that post on here have, highly recommended.

Best to look for 15k for griff or chim as they are the ones in your range.

Then keep the other couple of k for any unexpected costs.

You will have quite a choice of cars for that including a few 500's

Rob Ingleby is the 'Find a Sportscar' chap. An all-round good egg as far as I'm concerned. He pretty much does what it says on the tin - I rang him one Monday, told him what I wanted in terms of model, history, budget etc, and by Friday I was proud owner of my first TVR. It's essentially a private sale, and you pay Rob a flat finder's fee - he does the HPI checks and everything.

Fantastic service, brilliant advice, and ended up with loads more car for my money than I would have got from a dealer. Great after-sales too; he put me in touch with Joolz for servicing and repairs (another class act).

After some of the c**p that I had from some dealerships - they really don't like to sell cars to girls (in fairness, Adrian Blyth were the exception) it was refreshing working with him.

Highly recommended

Yup....I'd agree with that! Rob found my car for me (3rd one he had looked at). My only advice - tell him your limit, then tell him your absolute max limit...and stick to it. Not saying he tries it on, but if he finds a particularly nice car - he really wants you to have it! Good luck.

oh dear...
have just had a look at Rob's website...
You may have started something off here.

Have had fast Imprezas for a while now; upcoming choice is new shape STi with 300bhp Prodrive upgrades, or a sportscar plus nicer car for other half.

Elise gets vetoed by the number 1 customer as there's no room for chronic overpacking when going away.
TVR is approved of......
Have always wanted a Griff.......
