Having broken the bar that goes horizontially under the bonnet that the runners go on(dont ask how i broke it
I ordered a new one and it arrived today.
The problem being thenew one is dead straight and the old one has a bend in it right near where the stay is attached,Is it meant to be bent???

So could some one have a quick look on theres and see if its straight or bent.
Its on 96 Griffith.

TIA

1997 Griffith - also straight - probably got bent over a period of time due to the weight of the bonnet when propped

for the info, probable just bent over time like u said.

Un bolted one side ok but sheared the bolt of on the over side so gotta find a replacment bolt 2morrow.
Found one that fit in me bits and bobs tin but it didnt have a bolt head on it tink it was off some old furniture as it had a smooth end.

The horizontal rod should be straight - I suspect yours was bent through bad handling at some stage. However the vertical rod DOES need to have a small kink in the middle (serpentine engine only) to clear the swirlpot as the bonnet is lowered.
