I have heard that you can fit the Griffith roof stays to an ''S''. Has anyone heard of this or done it. They look a damn site better than the originals and I would like to give it a go, so any advice would be much appreciated.

Did it earlier this year. The Griff/Chimaera stays are slightly longer and therefor you will have to either re-drill the holes or extend them downwards. A little fiddly to get right but easy enough. I would say that the difference in the location of the holes was about 10mm. They do look a lot better. Mine cost me £50 from Dougals Valley Breakers for the pair.

Thanks for this. I presume you can re-drill the holes without making a mess of the carpet ? I will get in contact with Douglas Valley to see if they have any available.

Re-drilling the holes doesn't upset the carpet as long as you take your time and do let it get wrapped around the bit. Apparently Douglas Valley Breakers prices have gone up of late for these items (£100 quoted to a friend). Same friend of mine has just done the conversion on his 400se and got his struts from Global TVR Systems who are based somewhere in Cambridgeshire, give Mick a call on 0796 832 8585 and he may be able to help you out.

Team Central were doing factory seconds for £100 pair (as fitted to my car, no bad marks)but I am not sure of the position (you could always try the factory as they do have a spares dept).Peninsula probably have some for the same amount of money (01884) 35341 (Richard or Neil) Cheers Lee
