A Bizarre thing happened yesterday evening. My Griff is fitted with a Cat1 Serpi Star GR 480 total closure alarm, which seems to be pretty good, but last night I got in the car fired up as usual pulled out of the garage, and I was just about to get out and close the garage door, when the doors locked and the windows closed (about 10-15 seconds after starting). The engine was still running so I shut it off, then the doors unlocked!!! After closing the door I set off and sure enough the doors locked again. The 10-15 seconds is about the same time as the immobiliser activating after you turn the car off? I thought the alarm was playing up on Sunday at the Combe, as I couldn’t get the bloody thing to set, which turned out to be the boot being open. Obviously I tried everything else first, so I may have accidentally changed a setting by using a combination of the buttons on the fob. Any ideas anyone?? This doesn’t stop me driving the car but it is a pain in the backside. Cheers Dan

I know Clifford alarms have a setting to lock the doors when the engine is running, supposedly to increase security. The doors lock just after you start the car and unlock when you turn the engine off. It is possible on a Clifford to set this from the remote (using some bizarre combination of buttons). A decent alarm dealer should be able to tell you how to turn this on and off. Ian A. Ian A Griff 500

Cheers Ian I have mailed a Serpi dealer so hopefully they will respond. I'm glad to hear this is a feature of other alarms as I suspected it was a bit too clever to be a random glitch! If anyone does know anything about Serpi alarms, I'd be glad of any info. Cheers Dan
