Saw it on Wednesday, private sale cherry red 500, bought it today. But there's a problem, the wifes gone to visit the parents for two weeks (no that's not the problem), she left this morning and has no idea what I've been upto. But she is expectging to return and find quotes for a new conservatory, not a TVR in the garage. Looking at the problem logically (or from a blokes perspective) a conservatory is a big lump of glass and plastic stuck on the side of your house that you can sit in and read the paper. but then a TVR could be described as lump of glass and plastic which you could park by your house and read the paper in with the added benefit that it can leave the house from time to time and you could read the paper in a different location, a positive advantge I would think. Anyway it's T-minus 14 days and counting until I have to face the music, but what fun I'm going to have in the meantime.

Our replies will, I suspect, be biased towards the TVR option. To be really scientific you should also post the question on ConservatoryHeads.com.

You can tell wifey that you struggled manfully to locate such an organisation but failed to do so.

Hence you had no option to buy the Griff, and anyway, you can always get the conservatory next year. Or simply tell her that you bought the Griff for her as a surprise present!

You are dead, my friend.

My wife has just said to me "don't let that give you any ideas, matey". (Fortunately I already have a Chimaera 500)

R.I.P. davidn - in 14 days.

Thanks for the support/advice you guys, I look forward to posting my 'first drive' report, no doubt I'll have some questions as I'm a TVR virgin. I'm in the Brentwood, Essex area, only seen 2 Griffs around locally but hope to hear from some local(ish) drivers.
Any suggestions for specialists in the area?, I heard there was some one in Southend.

Go for the TVR - I was promised a new kitchen when we bought the house 6 years ago - but the TVR came first. We then joined the TVRCC and our social life has never been better.

Debs

(New kitchen expected in 2003)

Ps - Davidn - Get yourself over to North Weald Airfield today - Mid Essex TVRCC will be there. Otherwise the club meet the first Sunday in the month at the Hurdlemakers in Woodham Mortimer.

as you might figure out from my nick i am not a proud owner of a tvr, i am the wife of one..lol..and we bought the tiv before we bought a conservatory..and i came to realise (but it was too late)that i should have told him to keep his porsche - he wasn't driving the porsche very often, he isn't driving the tiv either..he is POLISHING it..lol..however - i love him with all my heart (MY HUSBAND THAT IS) and as long as he tolerates and pretends to understand my obsession with shoes and bags - there'll be no arguments about no tivs..lol..i just hope you realise you should start saving for a conservatory NOW!!

Doctor: 'Well, Mr X, I'm afraid it's bad news. Your wife isn't well - she's either got amnesia or aids.'

Man: 'So how do I know which one it is?'

Doctor: 'Drive her to the other side of town and drop her off. If she finds her way home, don't sleep with her!'

Funnily enough my parents are currently having a Porsche Boxster bolted to the front of the house to sit in. Builders are there right now...

I think you can work it out from there....

I'm afraid so. Utterly, totally, nadgered.

BUT how it goes is this...

She will be angry. Very, very angry.
Then she will annoyed.
Then she will be hurt. (This part is really dreadful!)
Then she will cheer up. (This part is worse)

And guess what?

You will still have the Tiv! Weather the storm, my friend...she may even like it!

Unfortunately old Marcos Maniac appears to have really stuffed it up and is having to get rid....don't let this happen to you!

A Conservatory is just a greenhouse with good P.R. The Griff is a CAR.
