How good is the rear visibility in a Tamora, Griffith, or Chimaera with the hood up. I would think it's better than most other convertibles like because the rear window wraps around the sides of the hood and is not just a small square like it is in many other convertibles.

As long as the rear screen isnt misty or poorly maintained better than some hardtop cars. There is a slight blindspot over your right shoulder but you learn to adjust body when turning around to check this. Im quite pleased with visability from rear.

Couldn't see a thing through it this morning, all misted up. Any ideas the best way to clear ? Don't want to scrape and a cloth had no effect at all.

Have a small pot of silica gel on the parcel shelf. Fix it down somehow or it will go flying when you put your boot down.

It is not to bad, I use it, but I also use the side mirrors a lot just in case.

Also; I believe the Griff with the hood down has better visability as its hood goes lower into the body.

Difficult to focus on anything in the rear mirror when it's receding into the horizon so rapidly!

'Difficult to focus on anything in the rear mirror when it's receding into the horizon so rapidly!'

Rear view is reddish due to doppler shift!

Ahh Redshift, does it not go blue if it is fast in reverse.

When you get into the car, ask yourself "Is it raining?" If not, get the bloody roof off!! Problem solved....

Easier to look forwards. Red behind, blue in front. Which change to X-rays from 3rd gear onwards...

Totally agrree with Nubbin, even light rain "the roof must stay down" Except that in the cold - the rear screen is more brittle so, like mine, cracks appears and eventually tears!

The Tamora goes ALL the way down due to the clever "step" in the top of the windscreen . . .

PS Nubbin - what is the offical colour of your car? Love to see it in the flesh.

Yes, the step is the only clever thing about it. But hang on - who cares about rear visibility anyway? Do we think 'Hmm, I would buy a TVR but the rear visibility is a little poor, I'll get a Mondeo instead'? Do we bollox!

But we need to keep an eye out for flashing blue lights and jealous drivers . .

Robkola - my car is Ferrari Grigio Alloy - I've just had the rear spoiler colour-coded and it looks way better. Also Armourfended at the front - helped a lot (probably paid for itself!) when I went into a gravel trap at Donington...
