Has he stopped selling Griffiths completely ??

All I ever seem to see on is site these days are Chimaeras and Chimaeras, OH yeh and the occasional Cerberra.

I bought my S from Adrian 2.5yrs ago and thought I would keep an eye to his site while on the long hunt for a Griffith, but to no evail....

Still visit his site occasionally and yes, he does seem to have more Chims than ever – but of course, if they are easier to sell to his punters, then he's gonna stock more of 'em. Nobody wants to have stock that may take a little while longer to sell ...

Shame but fact of life.

Are there none in the classis on this site that take your fancy?

Not at the moment no....You know what its like when you're looking around though. You look everywhere. You try and stick with names you trust/have dealt with...

I agree with the argument that Chimaeras are easier to sell...but still....there is a significant demand for Griffiths IMHO, I am sure that Adrian is in a far better position to comment.

I think another factor is that there are less griff's.

Johno, Hamiltons in Bristol have a couple at the mo' including a nice yellow one (though to me the mileage is a little low) They also seem to be building up a pretty good reputation (ask Scruff).

Cheers Dan

From what I've been told the Griffith is extremely popular, more so that the Chimaera.

I bought my Griff from Adrian Blyth 3 months ago (would definitely recommend him btw), and had been looking around for months before that. Adrian told me that he managed to shift Griffs very quickly, and I put a deposit down whilst it was still in the 'Coming Soon' section! A member of sales staff at Fernhurst confirmed they didn't tend to sit on forecourts for too long. He added that it was very hard to find enough stock to sell...

I suppose the fact that 3000-odd Griffs compared to 9000-odd Chims built means that supply/demand works a little differently.

Griffs are just more desirable? (ooh - controversial!)

You can buy my Griff, bought from Adrian only 5 months ago.. still got 7 months warranty left (not sure if it's transferable...er?) pends if you like Rosso Pearl...

At the end of the day, car dealers have to make a living as we all do.. :cough:

I will regret selling it I know... (leadfoot: don't start on me!!!! 2nd baby on the way!!!!!)

So you've already got 3 for your 2 seater car, so what difference is 1 more going to make?
Buy a 2nh hand Ovlov 940 for the tribe & keep the Griff & your sanity!

You could hide it in my garage for a while if you like. I promise to look after it as though it were my own and make sure it doesn't suffer from under use .

A general point on contacting specialists - put my Griff up 4 sale due to redundancy - contacted a number of specialists in SE - 3 responded - but on outright sale or p/x prices were so low it made me weep. Quite a few didn't respond at all! So as a result the bicycle is out of the loft and the Griff will be kept till next Spring and enhanced in the interim. By the way even advertising it on PistonHeads made no difference.

I guess like me your run to dealers for a confidence boost... but I too have found the offers from dealers to be on the lean side : i.e. cheaper to get an overdraft for the cash I need than lose the griff!

I am Adrian Blyths "Rodney" (you plonker!).

This thread was brought to my grateful attention by Andy Mcloughlin our AJP guru.

As the great man (Blythy) is taking a well earned rest it is left to me to reply.

Firstly we are always seeking TVR/Elise - especially Griffith!!

Over the past three months we have been offered a variety of Griff but IOHO they have not been suitable due to condition/colour/history/ownership whilst others have just been too much money - preventing us in turn offering a sensibly priced car.

Secondly - I would like to apologise to steve-p for "slipping through our net" - sorry Steve!

Lastly - I am grateful to M@H for highlighting our impending Griff and setting the record straight.

PS - As its a Bank Holiday week-end Blythy said I could go home at 10.00pm!! He really is a nice man!
