I'm keen to know how many 4.3 pre-cats came out of the factory (and how many BV's as a subset of that)?
Expect there must be some precats have been modified since (did the TVR dealer network offer this)?
Also am I right in thinking 'simplistically' that the 430 just uses the 4.2 litre RV8 camshaft (as per landrover).
cheers,
Graham

Mine came out of the factory as a 4.3, I have the original sales invoice to say it went back to the factory for the BV conversation

Its just a low comp 4.2 engine but with valve cutouts in the pistons so in effect even lower cr than the original rover engine. Heads are nicely ported, standard valve size and the cam they used was a Kent 214.

We'll have to see but I'm hoping for a bit more. Im keeping the 4.3 engine so it can always go back in.

If the 5 ltr turns out disappointing the 4.3 is the perfect cr for forced induction.

Well guys we have made a start. Is there anyone who has information or knowledge on the recorded total number of 4.3's made? Then we need to ascertain how many are still in service/running. Regards, Pete

704, according to this; http://www.tvrblog.com/the-tvr-production/

Numbers surviving is more difficult to ascertain, I guess ?

Very confusing, the numbers seem arbitary, i.e.

TVR Griffith 4.0, 1992 – 1993, -
TVR Griffith 4.0, HC 1992 – 2002, -

Now, does the '2000' and '2002' mean the year or a quantity? If a quantity then there were 9000 Griffiths? I always thought there were a lot less 4.3's than 704?

I open this up further to those knowledgable in these matters!

The Bible states a total number of 716, consisting of 4.0, 4.0HC, 4.3, 4.3BV and 4.5BV, so surely them 706 can't be correct ?

Total number of Griff' is stated as 2445....
