I could'nt beat Mannings, but that was 5-months ago. I guess things change quickly in the mad world of car insurance

If their quote is OK in comparison to last year I would'nt bother wearing out your shoe leather (or finger tips) - Tesco were 2nd on my list, but that was with 2nd car discount.

I've got a quote of £420 for my '93 Griff 500.

Age 32, good postcode, garaged, second car, classic policy, agreed value £15k, 3,000 miles per annum.

Intersting its about £50 less than my renewal but its underwritten by the same company (Royal and Sun alliance) as my current AON policy.

In can't do anything until Monday though as both companies are now shut.

Who are AA Manering BTW and should I be ringing them?

Just got a quote from Sunninghill.

34yrs old, clean license, one non-fault accident, full ncb, protected, 2000V Cerbera 4.5LW, not garaged, good area. Just short of 700 notes, but with 500 excess.

This was a couple of hundred cheaper than Mannings. Who if memory serves me correctly were no cheaper than Tesco's and Direct Line.

Dave,

Mannings are the company that operate the 'official' TVRCC insurance scheme.

They worked out cheaper for me this year as well but last year ClassicLine were better so it's a case of phoning round each year I think.

Cheers,
JSG.

I bounced mannings against sunninghill in an attempt at bartering!! And it worked, they have margin to play with... went with Sunninghill in the end @ £420 Fully Comp + RAC Cover + Track Day Cover!

Direct Line got my business, 25yrs young, full no claimes, 9k per year, garaged good postcode all for the sum of 1000 notes - protected. Tesco were second at £1200.

By completing on-line saved a further 50 squid !

I use Heritage (advertise in Club Mag) and pay about £480 on the Griff. A mate got a price of £420 on a Cerbera from Classicline, also in Sprint, so I may give them a go next year. In both cases, limited mileage second car type policies.
