Can anyone recommend a stainless exhaust system that gives maximum noise without reducing performance, also through pipes to replace the cat.
Are there sensors in the cat pipes(lamder sensors?)do these need to be connected for it to run correctly? The car is a griffith 500

Normally the lambda sensors are disconnected because the feedback they give after decatting is out of whack. (Though I know one Griff that's just had them REfitted in order to make it idle properly - bizarre)

I think Zertec do a replacement manifold section that gets over the cat problem. In fact, they make a jolly nice 4-pipe system too, so try www.zertec.co.uk

A lot of the Griffs at Back Home sounded seriously tasty and I think Mania will be even better....

Budget around £1000 for the decat and new chip for the ECU. Add to that another 3-500 for the rest of the system - straight through pipes. Don't expect to go on any track days and might I suggest a set of ear defenders. Could reach somewhere around 117-120 db which is pretty stupid IMHO but each to their own.

Why not leave the cats, but replace the exhaust for a sports system. will save you a fortune!

Offord do decats for £500 inc chip (I think). But once they're out, they stay out 'cos they are destoyed in the removal process. However I think you'd be better off either having the baffles removed or a straight-through system like the Zertec. IMHO.

The problem is that when you come to an MOT, don't pass and need to restore things, it costs you about £600 more to get all the new bits... So it's a question of do you feel lucky?

re-piped my box (oo-er mrs)
sounds meatier and louder for £80-00.
most dealers will do this. i believe

set of in-tailpipe silencers for track & field another £80-00 or so (i think!)

R yours ok for track days or do u need the silencers that u can attach in the tail pipes.

I did this a few months ago but instead of a straight through system I replaced the muffler for a smaller one (half the size)

this gave me 7dB extra and thus staying within track day limits

sound is pretty good

Was i bit surprised when quoted £165 plus VAT to have the pipes put in the rear box from a company near me.
Especially when seen what u others have been paying.
