4.3 Griffith being a little cranky

Can anyone give me a pointer where to start looking, to fix the following, both problems have started in the last couple of weeks but I think that they are probably unconected.
1) Hot or cold contol motor (in passenger footwell) for not working.
2) Central locking solinoides not work from bliper or internal button.

By the way I have checked the fuses already.

My hot/cold control keeps breaking, the switch on the dash has worked loose and is shorting it out, the motor runs continuously for a while then burns out...

....I have given up after motor number 5.
