Anyone with a Griff 4.3, or thinking of buying one, might like to see:

I remember the TVRCC Yorkshire RO had one the 16 4.3 big bore Griffiths. One of the best.

My old 4.0 only did it once in more than 4 years - but it chose to do it just when the eventual purchaser finished his test drive!

Mine does it all the time. I understood the speedo and rev counter are driven by a stepper motor and basically freeze when you turn the ignition off. Maybe different types work differently though?

My S3 is the same (same gauges I think). Just turn the ignition back on for a second without starting the engine, and both speedo and rev counter will return to zero.
Cheers,
Paul.

Interesting comment about the brakes, in view of the current penchant for upgrading them. I have the original magazine. If anyone would like a scan emailed, contact me privately on paul@alaving.freeserve.co.uk
