I am considering trying out a NOS injection kit in my Griff. Does anyone have any experience with this stuff?

Cheers

Talk to Richard Thorpe at Wedge Automotive. He has done several conversions. I've been in his 600 bhp Griff and it is frightening in a straight line.

Fitting the nitrous is the easy bit. The engine had to be rebuilt to take the power and cost around 8K. Clutches were burning out every 800 or so miles. ANd before you ask yes you can fit stronger clutches but there are so fierce that driving is interesting and they tend to snap drive shafts and CV joints. He also found that the chassis was twisting and had to be strengthened as did the wishbones and so on.

You also need to uprate the brakes so the thing will stop.

Seriously???

I can't imagine how mental that would be, a standard Griff is pretty hairy, but nearly double the power? Is that even drivable?

If you decide to go ahead, best of luck!

Theres a gold one for sale here in NZ at the moment with Nitrous.... don't know any details but its obviously possible..... The key with Nitrous, unles u wanna pay BIG bills is to keep it mild.... an extra 50bhp is still a NOTICEABLE improvement, especially with a Griff where lack of traction is more often a worry.

I’m thinking of it too. I used to run an adjustable system on my old Small Block Chev good for anything upto 150 brake improvement (90 was the start point as far as I remember). It was only mildly modified and engine took it ok.

A case of start on the low side and edge it up....

I'm no expert (in anything) but I think it is possible to have a NOS system that is progressive so you don't get the whole kick at once.
