Griffith folding roof struts on a wedge
Discussion
I replaced the roof struts on my S2 (same as on a wedge) with the Griff type struts several years ago. The only problem was that, fully extended, the alloy strut is slightly longer. I was able to drill new holes in the back panel (about 1 cm below the originals) and the struts work better than the black steel versions (and don't squeak).
I bought the alloy struts on a factory tour. TVR were selling them off as new/damaged (slight scratches - removed on inspection from new Griffs) at £12 each. They went like hot cakes. At the time (mid-90s), I was told that the new cost was around £60 each.
