Could anyone tell me what the clutch master cylinder is off(land rover defender 90 rings a bell)
Also just stripped the pedal box out of the car to replace the brake master cylinder, to find the servo full of brake fluid ! What is the servo off a Fiesta?
Thanks

Yes servo is Fiesta, infact iirc they are all the same for all Fiestas.
Master cylinder is Xr2i 22.2mm bore and matching servo.
I got my stuff from Brakes International.

clutch master is just a Girling 0.7". You can also get a new seal kit for them which is perfectly acceptable.

If its any help my old master cylinder had a plastic tag on it, which the replacement also had.
Both had the code 6561 07 12 EB

This thread clicky also confirms what Carsy said.

Having trouble with brakes international cross referencing my part number and even the one Barreti quoted.
Just for reference my master cylinder on the face that mounts to the servo is flat. The one sourced from a local motor factors had a recess on the master cylinder face?
The servo itself has a little thin seal around the orifice of the servo bore?
Any clues? Thanks

I fitted this clutch master cylinder last year, all good so far and just £33.00. I did need a thread adaptor as the clutch pipe had a different size union, it appears there was no standard size.

The site also has some other goodies for the

They didnt recognise the number from the plastic tag on mine either. I just asked for fiesta xr2 with 22.2 mm bore.

Blimey, that took some finding. Now I'll have to actually file all the stuff in the "In Tray" on my desk because the neat pile is now lots of not so neat piles biggrin

My BMC came from Brakes International. Who I talked to on the phone and who recognised the number on the tag on my master cylinder.

Here are the relevant details from the invoice (now filed in the Griff folder)

Well had a delivery from the suppliers today. Same thing again, got the recess on the mating face of the master cylinder. They had all the reference numbers i could muster, even Barreti's code off his cylinder. they say that is the one.
So i've made a thin mating plate to replicate my old one

One of the reasons for making this plate,is to get a good seal, so the servo works ?. Also the engine would run incorrectly with extra air being drawn in.

I think you will find the vacuum seal is internal (surrounding the pushrod) and in the servo rather than in between the 2 studs (external) that secure the BMC as is often the case on most servo's scratchchin

Simon, now that would make sense looking inside the servo. You can see a lip seal which indeed surrounds the pushrods. I was drawn to ( what I thought was a seal), on the outside of the servo, thinking that would need to seal against the face of the master cylinder. Well you live and learn. Thanks
Chris

wink This would certainly explain all those voids in that replacement MC scratchchin of course I am assuming having seen that design many times before nerd

Well after all the messing about eventually got the pedal assembly sorted. While the pedal assembly was out I decided to strip it, blast it and get it all powder coated. Along with the steering column assembly.
The brake and clutch master cylinders both work great now, thanks to all the lads replies on here. This really does prove that these postings do work !
I would post some pics, but the file size is too big. Sorry
