Wedge or Griff?
Discussion
I am currently the proud and exceedingly chuffed owner of a Marcos Mantis but unfortunately Mrs Imelda refuses to drive the said beastie, this despite professing herself quite happy at the time of purchase. I have it on good authority that this erratic behaviour is perfectly acceptable when exhibited by the fairer sex.
So if what little backbone I possess were to desert me at a crucial moment and I agreed to sell the Mantis, Mrs Imelda would like the replacement to be a Griffith 500, whereas I would favour a Wedge 420/450.
So without wishing to start a war between the two respective camps, could anyone assist with the pros and cons between the two?
I should add that as a complete mechanical numptie, any under-bonnet tinkerage is a complete . In fact I'm such a fcukwit that I even feel the warm glow of self-satisfaction if I manage to fill the car up without slopping half a gallon of Shell's finest down the boot/down my trousers/on my shoes/across the forecourt, so this needs to be considered in any decision made.

Can't comment on the Wedge but my man has a 500 Griff and inspite of having thighs like a navvie, I find the clutch is very hard and a bit of a struggle - so 9 months later I still haven't driven it despite his pleading.
There are however two psychological issues here - he wants me to drive the Griff as he feels guilty for all the sacrifices I have made so he could afford it (I drive a 1.2 UNMODIFIED 'E' Reg Nova!) and also I am not keen as if I drive his Griff then he will want me to drive back from the pub and I will have to stick to Diet Coke.
Difficult one!

Can you imagine it..
" the Griffith wouldn't break down here..."
" the Griffith wouldn't have set off the car alarms.."
" the Griffith would have stopped in time.. "
" the Griffith would have made a cup of tea by now.. "
" the Griffith wouldn't have cost so much to repair.. "
" the Griffith would have been cheaper to insure.. "
" the Griffith would..."
AAAAAAAAARRGH !

Those women are out there! I love to go everywhere in the Chimaera with the roof down, however when we go out for dinner or the like wifey moans 'cos it messes up her hair!
I suggested then that we should buy a Cerbie to which she didn't disagree but said we would have to keep the Chimaera!

Mrs Simon drove the griff from the garage to the drive, got out and said she didn't like it , it was too heavy and didn't want to drive it again ever. Came out in it once, said it was too fast and has not been in it since.
Always got space for a replacement Mrs Simon in the passenger seat now

You'll have to go for a Griff; it's more of a ladies car (Ducks for cover)
Seriously though - Griff is a lot more refined to drive. Also, unless your missis is quite tall she may find forward visibility from the Wedge quite a problem; ask Jeff and Linda Morgan.....
Linda is 5' so even witha booster seat it is unlikley she will ever drive it (phew).
Don't know on performance comparisons but the Griff's sound a bit wossy to me....
