There are many people who sprint TVRs, including Griffiths. If you go for the standard production class then you are not allowed to make any modifications, except for safety modifications, so yes you can sprint the Griffith and not spend a fortune on it. The basics are a crash helmet, flame proof race suit and a timing strut for the front of the car. Then apply to the MSA for a National B Non Race licence (send them a cheque with the completed form, no mediacal required) and enter some championships. Once entered, the championshp organisers send you entry rregulations (regs) and you fill in the form, send it back with a cheque, turn up, add some numbers and off you go! Take a look at Steve Heaths web site www.tvrbooks.co.uk and follow the Sprints links, there are a lot more details on the timing beam and numbers and how to get started. Where abouts are you? There are a lot of TVRs in the ACSMC championships down south and the Midland championships oop north, and don't forget the TVR Car Club Championship as detailed on PistonHeads.com Feel free to ask any more questions and I will try to answer where I can. By the way, a lot of events are being cancelled this year due to Foot and Mouth, so entries for those events still on get filled up quickly Good luck ================ Graham and Rosie

You mean you have a Griff and haven't bought the bible?? Shame on you! Well worth the money, lots of bits about different models, how to fix things, what goes wrong and which bits are different on each model - well worth the money, go buy one NOW! ================ Graham and Rosie

If you want more details about getting started in sprinting let me have your postal address off-list and I'll send you an info pack. Cheers, Peter Humphries (and a green V8S) TVR Car Club Speed Championship Coordinator peter.humphries@jyra.com

Id like to sprint my Griff, has anybody done one and how do you go about getting involved and does the car have to be modified to take part?
