I'm looking to buy my first tvr (griff 5 94-97 if anyones got one for sale ? ) a bit later in the summer.

Ive seen lots of recommendations for www.findasportscar.co.uk (was his name Ingleby ?) but the site seems to have been down the last few weeks.

Does anyone know whats happened to it ? Or how I get hold of him ?

Thanks for the tips - Ive been calling a few of the auto trader adverts. It seems that griffiths get sold in a matter of hours.

Could this be why the prices are so variable ? Ive just seen a '98 500 with 18K miles for 15,995, then a '92 500 with 36K miles for 16,100 !

At this rate I think I'll have to get a sleeping bag and camp outside an owners house till they decide to sell it.

Do you reckon it will calm down when the summers over ?

A lot of it depends on colour, spec and condition, rather than just age and mileage.

I ended up putting a deposit down on a car at a dealer without having driven it and before they'd finished preparing it, as I'd had several go before I even visited the dealer.... and that was in January.

Some cars on the other hand, sit there for months.

I knew what colours, spec and age I was after, and seemed to be competing for a popular choice....

Don't know what's happening with the web site (seems to be under construction?) but when I spoke to Rob Ingleby last month he said the business was flourishing. Must say if I was in the market for a used TVR that's probably the route I'd take now. I expect you can find his contact details in Sprint.

He is still going, a friend of mine spoke to him last week. He's very busy.

Prices vary because the condition of the cars varies dramatically as do the colour combinations and the mileage. Getting the right mixture (according to your criteria/budget) is what's difficult.

Thanks a lot for all the advice.

The state of the market just makes me more certain that I wont regret owning one of these cars.

With any luck I'll see the right one at some point. And I'll see if Rob Ingleby can come up with anything.

Thanks again.

Tig,

Know what you are going through.... I am looking for the same motor as you.... but no joy yet.

I test drove a 500 at a dealers with 52K on the clock and asking £15000. Its seemed a bit pricey compared to some i has seen advertised.. so left it.

If i knew what i did now......

Matt

I saw Rob about two weeks ago to go and put a deposit on a Griff 500 - a '98 with 22K on the clock. Took him a couple of weeks to find it after giving him our spec.

Could not believe it took so little time so we are racing around trying to get cash sorted. He is fairly busy at the moment and he did say that everyone wants a Griffith. I can only recommend him so worth calling him as he will find what you want at good price.

Can't recommend him highly enough, took a couple of months to find mine, give him a ring on 07799142860. He'll even negotiate the price for you, he certainly knows the market, you'll pay the right price even in this market.
