I have daylight at night! In the form of Zertec lights on my Griff. I went for the Xenon main/halogen dip option which was about 1100 quid. This includes fairing & front end respray. In the grand scheme of things I don't think that is bad, as you end up with a nice shiney front end too. As it happens it was a slight interface with some armco at Mallory park which was the catalyst for this job, so my bill was a bit higher as there was a certain amount of cosmetic surgery required too! I know that the mod is down to personal taste in terms of appearance, but the increase in light output is amazing.

David, presumably if I were to fit some decent bulbs from these people www.powerbulbs.com/ your wiring modification would be equally as essential? R...
I've installed Davids 'brighter lights' kit which has made a difference, I have not had much nighttime driving to really test it but initial impressions are good. I also changed all of the bulbs to philips premium jobbies (at standard ratings) which has helped. We are trying to arrange a comparison session but I've been a bit busy, when we do this I'll post some pictures.

I've heard about Xenon and stuff, can you get them from your 'local' shop and what model(s) would I ask for? Can the spots be upgraded?
I have a 92 Griff 400 and sidelights only!
Thanks.
There is a considerable difference between replacement Xenon bulbs (only slightly brighter than halogen bulbs) and high-intensity gas discharge lighting systems using Xenon gas (at least three times brighter than the best conventional system). I have prepared an Adobe Acrobat information sheet describing the benefits of high-intensity gas discharge systems. Please e-mail me at info@zertec.co.uk and I will send you a copy of the file.
Best regards,
Clive Reed
If you just replace the bulbs with higher wattage, then the voltage drop will be even more. The 30% brighter jobbies will be 30% brighter than your bulbs, which will give you what you should have anyway. Simple test, engine running, full beam on, unplug the drivers side main beam, see how much brighter the other becomes. Plug back in to see again the dull effect come back. Imagine the same on dip.By rewiring you get the full brightness to all.
How many times have you seen a car coming towards you with just one light, but seems a bit too bright!Same reason.
