Does anyone know where I can source a strut brace for my Corrado?

As far as I am aware, there isn't one for the RHD Corrado VR6.

I know at least one owner who has made one fit, but he had to reposition the expansion tank to do so and to top up his coolant he has to remove the brace again.

Thanks for that - it explains why no-one I talk to is able to help.

I am new to PH but it is good to see someone else with a Corrado for the daily commute (and track days) and a TVR for when the sun shines

I am broadly in the same place as you as far as mods are concerned (although I have not done any chipping). I have recently got the track day bug and I am now facing the judgement of whether to leave things as they are or make further changes. To make a material difference I guess this would involve stripping out weight/a cage etc. Not sure if I could do that to the car...

Finally, I can confirm that the 57i induction kit is really loud (in response to the comment on your VR6 site), although it does make me smile and I can't at this stage see myself getting tired of it!

If you are running standard suspension then the first thing is to replace it with aftermarket.

If budget allows then coilovers are the way to go. I wish I had been better informed when I changed the suspension on mine as I would have gone for that. However, they are fairly expensive - figure on £700-odd plus labour.

Having said that, the matched springs and dampers on mine are a big improvement over standard and much cheaper.

You can also replace the anti-roll bars with Eibach ones.

Also, what tyres are you running? That will make a big difference to handling and feel too.

Try the Neuspeed arbs perhaps. More range in diameter and adjustable too.

Depends if you mean front or rear, top or bottom. I think Eurotek used to do a front top brace, they had a fire a while ago and I do not know what their trading status is, and for the rear Trimsport do one that fits, both myself and Corozin have one.

Sorry, I should have said that I was referring to the front top brace! I should also have said that my knowledge is several years out of date too.

I was aware that several owners had successfully fitted a top rear brace. I'd love to see one fitted and hear what difference it makes and whether or not it fouls the parcel shelf.

The handling on my Corrado is not its best at the moment. I suspect that all my bushes need replacing and probably the rear bump stops too.

So many jobs, so little time and money.

Displaying total ignorance...

I had thought that I would just want a top front brace and I have to say that I have never heard of a bottom brace. Subject of course to them being available what would you recommend?

I went with a Spax kit (on the recommendation of Demon Tweeks). I have nothing to compare it against in the afftermarket but it has transformed the handling which was rather like that of a barge on my first outing on track. I also had an anti-roll bar put on a couple of weeks ago which has really helped the residual bodyroll. It feels quite sorted now.

Tyres are A539's although I have just got a set of Avon ZZR's to put on a spare set of alloys. I will be testing them out at Cadwell next week and have my fingers crossed as I have subsequently read lots of bad reviews of Avon tyres.
