Hi,

I've got a couple of A4/A6 1.8 (and Passat 1.8) turbos, and am wondering about the exhaust housings. Both turbos are the same Audi part number (058 145 703 J) but the exhaust housings are 5303 101 9071 D5 A ('00) and 5303 101 9071 D5S B ('99). FWIW, the compressor number is 5304 101 50 95B. Do any of you VAG enthusiasts know if there is a flow difference between these two components?

I notice that the exhaust housing appears to be cracked at the corner of the shroud between the wastegate and the turbine exit, on the '00 unit. Is this a common problem? Is it fixable?

Thanks,
Richard.

Just a note, if anyone's got one of those '99 K03 turbos for a good price (maybe you upgraded to a K04, or it needs a rebuild, etc) give me a holla and I might be able to take it off your hands.

No probs. You should find loads of k03's and maybe ko3s about. Just look on all the VAG owner websites/classifieds or ring up ppl like Stealth, Jabba, AmD even Awesome - they tend to have bits and pieces like this in.
