Currently have one of these on trial.

I thoroughly reccommend anyone who gets the chance to drive one does so. It's an excellent car. Good road holding and very quick. Lots of room inside and actually not bad to look at. Build quality is excellent and the engine has an excellent rasp.

It's quicker than the book states.

Excellent cheaper R36 alternative.

Do like the new Superb. Was thinking earlier it actually comes accross as a far more prestigious car than all the other stuff in the segment like the Mondeo and Insignia. Very well built and looks good (from the front at least). I think of it more of a cut price 5-Series/ E-Class alternative given the high equipment levels. Just a shame it doesen't get the 3.0 TDI from Audi A4/ A6.

In 6 months I've worked at Skoda we've not had 1 enquiry on the 3.6V6 Superb, I'm sure it's a lovely car but for most the running costs and tax will be very off putting. Now the 170 diesel, that's the one to buy with you own money.
I'd say most customers looking at Superb are also looking BMW and Merc, as opposed to the usual rep mobiles.

yes

Tha car mags think so too, as they generally back to back test it against BMW/Mercedes, not the usual mid range brands.

The estate version of the top V6 is fabulous. It would make a good used buy, but that would need someone to buy one new in the first place, and who would do that? biggrin

Precisely! I think only rather mental dealer principals will be putting one of those on as a demonstrator as i can't see anyone else buying one. I take my hat off to anyone who does.

There will be one up soon. The police demo will go somewhere and it is low miles.

It really is a cracking car. I'd rate it above the 530 for work. It was on par with the Audi quattros we tested.

I've fingers crossed we may buy one or two.

Bought a metallic black, TDI 170, 4x4, Elegance about 2 months ago now. Very, very impressed and pleased. Really wanted the 3.6 but as commented here, didn't seem the sensible choice. That said my previous was a 997 C2S, thats what gaving 2 kids does.....

Had our 170 CR diesel elegance for 18mths and 20,000 miles now , proved to be a worth replacement to the Mercedes E class i had before , i do miss the engine of the E Class (E320 cdi) but the Skoda is an all round better package much nicer to drive , cheaper to run , more toys etc etc

Couldnt live with the 3.6 though One thirsty petrol in the household is enough

Well I did. Used. After having a nasty shunt and being in and out of hospital I decided that a fast safe (?) big awd beast was what I wanted. So picked up a Swiss Dealer 3.6 Embrach edition (tuning arm for Skoda in Swiss). A few subtle tweaks...uprated ARBs, coil overs, alloys - lovely car fully loaded. Can't wait to give it a good run. A couple of photos below on winter 17" alloys and summer 19" rims. Out of interest the Swiss Gendarme have bought a few 3.6's in estate guise to run with their Opel 2.8 turbo opc estates...

Beautiful looking car. Leaves BMW/Merc for dead, IMO.

Thanks Skodaku...totally agree. Tried them too but the Superb was quite a bit better. Then, when you take the cost of purchase into the equation, it was a no brainier. Very happy with my 3.6 wink
