I am sure this has been talked about many times, however.... I am running a '99 Golf GTIT
I have been informed after my very expensive main dealer 60,000 service that I need a new dump valve. Has anybody got any advice on a replacement? I am not running any mods on the car but there must be a better one on the market. Would it be sad to want one that makes a little noise too...?
Chears for any help..

Forge recirc but I'm sure you will find all the info you want here www.uk-mkvs.net/forum/uk_home.asp

BOVs don't seem to go well with the 1.8T ECUs.

Or a Bailey. Audi call the part a Diverter Valve, but it's the same thing. OEM part last 2,000 miles on our TT. £80 Bailey part (not a performance mod) has been on for the past 54k since.

German build quality my arse.

Diverters are slightly different as they recirculate the air - supposedly better but (or indeed AND) you don't get the boy-racer whoosh.

Forge seem to be a favourite for the 1.8T but there are a number of others around. The OEM one (certainly on TTs) has improved considerably since 02 and they now last pretty well, not sure whether they can handle a remap yet but mine's been running for 20k and 225BHP.

There's a few running 280+ LCRs on the original dump valve without failure.

Thanks for all the advice, gone for the Forge 007P. I just hope I can work out how to fit it now.
Its a shame it wont make any more noise however, I am still young!
