2003 S3 ONLY 2700 MILES

Hmm,
What exactly 'extra'would you get if you bought this car from a dealer as opposed to from me?
( apart from a couple of grand less).
I bought it from a dealer in OCT for fecks sake, its had totally the same cover as it would if you picked it off the forecourt, IE the balance of Audi's 3 year warr and road assistance.
Oh and the tracker I had fitted at AUDI and the 6 months tax I put on it yesterday.
Still some very valid points guys.

I know what you mean. But perception is king. I know lots of people who would never dream of buying a car privately, therefore your market is reduced.
Lots of people view buying privately as a bigger risk (and frankly it is). A lower demand / smaller market means increased competition and therefore lower prices.
Whilst your car might be fully warranted etc, you as the seller are not governed by as many regulations as a trader, and therefore the buyer has less protection against buying a dog/stolen car/financed car/etc.
Having said that, if I was looking to buy a car such as yours then for the price of a bit of legwork, an HPi and a degree of risk I would happily take a private car at a couple/few grand less than a dealer purchase.
Good luck with your sale, hope I didn't cause offence.

The S3 is in a different league to the A3 3.2 IMO
The S3 is loaded with goodies e.g. Recaro silk nappa leather electric recaro seats. These (if available) would be a £2k option.
To spec a 3.2V6 Sport to a similar standard to the S3 (and still not get close) it would cost £28k+
Oh, and you can't tune the new A3, but you can the S3

That as say is that. Cheers Moff point well made.
Not everybody thinks like that. The new A3 is faster out of the box, and I can't image it will be long before we see a supercharger kit for the 3.2 V6 - wonder which will be the faster then... Course, I personally feel the 3.2 V6 is too heavy considering it's power output, but that's just my opinion.
Good luck on selling the car, I just think that people buying £25K Audis will be very conscious that there's a new shape model available, at roughly the same price, that will likely hold it's value better, and which performs better in standard tune.
Still, late 993s sometimes sell for more than early 996s. Let us know how you get on selling it.
