I have a two week old Golf GTi 150TD - and have just had professionally fitted a Clarion Sat Nav and Ericsson Blue tooth kit. On Monday several hundred miles after the fitting the speedo started to read 10mph faster than I was going and then during the day increased to 35mph faster and the needle didn't return to 0 when the ignition key was turned off and removed and needle still read 35mph. The dealer claims the sat nav is the problem, the sat nav people claim the car is the problem and so on. The speedo was re-set by the dealer and was fine for about 150 miles and has now done it again!

Anybody got any ideas?

Well haow about pulling the fuse on all the Sat Nav and car kit to see if the problem still occurrs... if not then throw it at the sat nav installer - if it does throw it at the dealer - sounds like interferance.

Sounds like a problem with the GALA wire which sends the signal to the speedo and the sat nav.

The sat nav so I am told cannot send a signal back up the line. What is also interesting is the fact that today the speedo went out by 10mph and back to normal again some hours later!

eeeeeeerrrrrrrrr???

... but surely they've tapped into it to get a signal for the SatNav?
