Audi Quattro ur turbo
Discussion
Tempted by a white '86 going down on eBay. Anyone any experience? Always fancied one since standing in the forests during the RAC rallies around that time. Assuming I'd want to get it into reasonable condition for use during wet, winter days when the Tiv's not best suited, could it be anything other than a very expensive dream? What goes wrong on these?

Will tell you everything you need to know. Get it inspected, by someone who relly knows what they're doing. That doesn't mean the RAC, neither does it mean an Audi dealer. Phil Payne, one of the moderators on the quattro forum does an inspection service, he can be breathtakingly arrogant at times but knows his stuff.

Many thanks - Phil had posted an incredibly helpful website page on buying a used ur quattro at www.isham-research.com/quattro/caveat.html. I learnt enough from that page to know that I shouldn't even contemplate buying the eBay car without a significant time and cost commitment to check it out. I don't have a problem with the cash part of this but I just don't have the time at the moment so will have to let this one go.
Really appreciate you directing me straight to the source of excellent advice.
